I took my wife to the local pizza parlor to eat.  We decided to sit in a booth.  The place wasn't very busy and there was an older couple sitting at another booth.

TOPIC: Mirrors

Mirrors 1 year 6 months ago #33

Besides the obvious side by side view, are there any good mirror angles to be seen from. I'm the driver.

I don't know about angles to catch a driver's eye in the mirror, but they should be able to see your hand or fingers touching, squeezing, caressing, pinching... Well, you see what I'm getting at.

Good rule of thumb is if you can see him, he can see you! That applies to his mirror as well as when you pull alongside.

Keep in mind that the driver you are trying to show, is far above you, and if you get too close to the side of his truck, he wont be able to see past your passenger seat.

we try to use the mirror to see if he has noticed us. slowly pulling up beside the truck starting at the trailer and by the time we get to where we can see him in his mirror he is looking like WTF are they doing and then we see the big smile on his face.

If the trucker see's a set of legs propped up on the dash in his mirror, you can bet he's gonna look down when you gt beside him.

I always try to watch the trucker's mirror to see if they are paying attention as I come alongside. Unfortunately, most drivers are sitting so far back, they don't show in the mirror or the window. Especially since I am also driving, this poses a problem for me. Sigh..... What are they thinking.... I have hundreds of miles to drive each day and sitting comfortably is more important than catching a chance flash???? LOL
